Built for Harsh Climates: AC Systems Designed for Florida, Texas and Arizona

Built for the Harshest Conditions.
Heat, humidity and salt air destroy ordinary air conditioners. BulletProof AC is designed for exactly those conditions: gold-coated anti-corrosion coils, inverter compressors that help control humidity, and parts built not to fail. The same strengths matter in Texas, Arizona and anywhere else that's hard on HVAC equipment.

What Harsh Climates Do to an AC System
-
Relentless heat
Long, hot cooling seasons mean more run-hours, higher head pressures and more stress on compressors, fan motors and electrical parts. A system that's merely fine in a mild climate can wear out early here.
-
Humidity
In humid climates, the AC has two jobs: cool the air and pull moisture out of it. A system that can't manage humidity leaves the house sticky even when the thermostat says it's cool.
-
Salt air and corrosion
Near the coast, salt in the air settles on outdoor coils and starts corrosion. Corroded coils lose efficiency, develop leaks and fail early. It's one of the most common reasons coastal AC systems die young.
-
Dust and desert sun
In the desert Southwest, intense sun and blowing dust add to the heat. Coils clog, cabinets bake and components run hot.
How BulletProof AC Is Built for It
-
Gold-coated, anti-corrosion coils
Our coils have a gold anti-corrosion coating that protects against salt air and humidity, the conditions that eat bare coils. It's standard on our equipment, not an upcharge.
-
Copper tube, aluminum fin coils
Our split condensers use heavy-duty copper tube and aluminum fin coils, per our spec sheet.
-
Inverter compressors for comfort and humidity control
Our split systems and mini-splits use inverter compressors that change speed to match the load. Instead of blasting on and off, they run longer at lower speed, which helps with steady temperatures and moisture removal in humid climates.
-
Rated for extreme temperatures
Per our spec sheet, our inverter split condensers are rated to operate in cooling from 5°F to 125°F outdoor temperature and in heating from -4°F to 86°F. Our mini-splits have a base pan heater and are rated for heating performance down to 5°F.
-
Parts built not to fail
We pick components for durability, not for the lowest possible price. Then we back them with 10 years of parts coverage residential (5 years commercial) on split systems and package units, and 5 years on mini-splits.
-
Tough outer cabinet
A marine-grade powder-coated cabinet with 1,200-hour salt spray corrosion resistance.
-
Designed for easy install and service
When a tech can work on a system easily, it gets maintained, and maintained equipment lasts. Our air handlers install upflow, downflow or horizontal, and all manuals are public on our resources page.
Built for Florida
BulletProof AC is headquartered in Bradenton, Florida, in the Lakewood Ranch area, so we design for Florida conditions firsthand: long cooling seasons, sticky summers and salt air from the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. From Tampa Bay and Sarasota to Fort Myers, Naples, Orlando, Miami and Jacksonville, Florida homes need AC systems that hold up. Ours ship free anywhere in Florida and the rest of the lower 48.

Built for Texas
Texas covers both kinds of hard: humid Gulf Coast heat in Houston, Corpus Christi and Galveston, and long, hot summers across Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin. Gold-coated coils help on the coast, and inverter technology helps with humidity and long run-times. BulletProof AC ships to Texas with free shipping.
Built for Arizona and the Desert Southwest
Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas and the rest of the desert Southwest push cooling equipment hard for months at a time. Our split condensers are rated to operate in cooling at outdoor temperatures up to 125°F (per our spec sheet). BulletProof AC ships to Arizona and the Southwest free to the lower 48.
Other Harsh Environments
Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas and any coastal or high-humidity market face the same enemies: heat, moisture and corrosion. If your area is hard on AC equipment, BulletProof AC is built for it.
Covered by a No-BS Warranty
10 years parts residential / 5 years commercial on split systems and package units. Mini-splits: 5 years, residential or commercial. No registration required, and it's transferable. See the warranty.
Keep It Going in Tough Conditions
- Rinse the outdoor coil with fresh water (gently, from the inside out if accessible), especially near the coast. Your installer can show you how, or include it in a maintenance plan.
- Keep the outdoor unit clear of plants, debris and stored items, with at least the clearance specified in the installation manual.
- Change filters on schedule, more often in dusty areas.
- Keep the condensate drain clear. In humid climates the system removes a lot of water.
- Schedule regular professional maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a gold-coated coil?
A coil with a protective anti-corrosion coating, often gold in color, applied over the fins. It helps shield the coil from salt air, humidity and airborne contaminants, the conditions that corrode bare coils and cut their life short. BulletProof AC uses gold-coated coils.
What's the best AC for coastal Florida?
Look for corrosion protection on the coil, a durable cabinet, an inverter compressor for humidity control, correct sizing (a Manual J load calc) and a warranty that actually covers coastal installs. BulletProof AC is designed with coastal Florida in mind.
Do heat pumps work in Florida?
Yes. A heat pump is an air conditioner that can also run in reverse to heat, so it cools exactly like an AC in summer and provides efficient heat on Florida's cool nights. All current BulletProof AC split systems and mini-splits are heat pumps.
Can BulletProof AC handle Arizona heat?
Per our spec sheet, our split condensers are rated to operate in cooling mode at outdoor temperatures up to 125°F. As anywhere, correct sizing and good installation matter just as much as the equipment.
Will an AC work better in humidity if it's bigger?
No. Oversized systems short-cycle and remove less moisture. Right-sizing and inverter technology are what help with humidity. See our sizing guide.
