Buying Direct (Homeowners)
Can homeowners buy directly from BulletProof AC?
Yes. You can buy BulletProof AC equipment directly online or by phone. Then a local BulletProof dealer we refer you to, or a licensed installer you hire, puts it in. See how buying direct works.
Why is buying direct cheaper?
You pay a published equipment price, and your installer quotes labor separately. You're not paying for equipment markup hidden inside a bundled quote, and you're not paying extra for a big-brand logo.
Does BulletProof AC install or repair systems?
No. We're the equipment company, not a service company. We don't do installs, repairs or service calls. Find an installer.
Can I install it myself?
No. Installing a split system or mini-split requires an EPA Section 608-certified technician to handle refrigerant, and most areas require a licensed contractor and a permit.
Do I need a load calculation?
We strongly recommend one. A Manual J load calculation from a licensed contractor is the reliable way to size a system. See our AC sizing guide.
Shipping, Delivery & Returns
Where do you ship?
Anywhere in the United States. Shipping is free to the lower 48 states.
What if my equipment arrives damaged?
Inspect every box before signing. Note any damage on the delivery receipt, take photos and contact us right away. Details are on our Shipping & Returns page.
Can I return equipment?
Unused equipment in its original packaging may be returnable. See Shipping & Returns.
Warranty
What's the warranty?
On residential installations: 10 years on parts for split systems and package units. On commercial installations: 5 years on parts for split systems and package units. Mini-splits: 5 years on parts, residential or commercial. Full warranty details.
Do I need to register?
No. Registration isn't required for warranty coverage.
Is the warranty transferable?
Yes. It transfers to the next owner of the home.
Does the warranty cover labor?
No. It covers parts. Ask your installer about a labor warranty.
Equipment, Efficiency & Refrigerants
What refrigerant do BulletProof AC systems use?
Our inverter heat pump split systems use R454B. Our ductless mini-splits use R32. Both are lower-GWP refrigerants that replace R-410A in new equipment.
Are your systems really 20 SEER2?
Our 2-ton split system is AHRI-certified at 20.0 SEER2. The 3, 4 and 5 ton systems are certified at 18.6, 17.5 and 17.0 SEER2. Our mini-splits are 17.0 SEER2. We list the actual certified rating for every size.
What's the difference between SEER and SEER2?
SEER2 is the efficiency rating used since January 1, 2023. Its test conditions are tougher and closer to real-world duct conditions than the old SEER test, so a SEER2 number is lower than the SEER number for the same equipment. Compare SEER2 to SEER2.
Are BulletProof AC systems AHRI certified?
Yes. Every split system and mini-split we sell today has an active AHRI certificate. Check any of them at ahridirectory.org with these reference numbers: 2-ton 218004248, 3-ton 218004249, 4-ton 218004250, 5-ton 218004251, 1-ton mini 218010976, 1.5-ton mini 218010977, 2-ton mini 218010978.
Are your systems heat pumps or straight AC?
Our current split systems and mini-splits are heat pumps, so they cool and heat. 14.3 SEER2 straight-cool (AC-only) systems are coming soon.
Do you have 110V/120V mini-splits?
Not currently. Our 1, 1.5 and 2 ton mini-splits run on 208/230V single-phase power.
Will my existing thermostat work?
Our split systems are designed for standard thermostat compatibility. A BulletProof AC thermostat is also coming soon.
What's coming next?
14.3 SEER2 straight-cool and heat pump split systems, 15 SEER2 package units, our thermostat and installation accessories are all coming soon.
What makes BulletProof AC good for Florida?

How do contractors get contractor pricing?
Apply for a contractor account with your contractor license number. We verify the license, then unlock contractor pricing on your account. Open a contractor account.
Will homeowners see my pricing?
No. Homeowners see retail pricing, which is higher than contractor pricing. Contractor pricing is only shown to verified contractor accounts.
Can you send me homeowner leads?
Yes. Homeowners who buy direct often ask us for an installer. BulletProof dealers get those referrals. See the dealer program.
